Hope Tyson (she/her)

Co-Director

Hope is the Co-Director and Founder of A Visual Approach, a Durham-based firm whose team brings more than twenty-five years of leading, working within, and collaborating with organizations locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. She is a visual thinker with more than a decade of experience in graphic facilitation, human-centered design, and participatory facilitation on topics from engineering to higher ed, healthcare and beyond. She thrives in messy conversations, back-of-the-napkin sketches, and problems that matter. Her work has led her around the world, but she remains deeply rooted in her home community of Durham, North Carolina where she lives amongst her family and a herd of dogs. Hope works in Spanish and English and is committed to increasing access to freedom and power for all. 


Iyman Leblanc (she/her)

Iyman is a Management Consultant with experience in program management and facilitation for globally diverse groups. Her expertise is in developing strategic solutions, leading change management initiatives, and managing complex communications needs. Her professional, educational, and personal backgrounds lend to her capacity for cross-cultural communication and a deep understanding of diversity and inclusion across non-profit, higher-ed, and corporate sectors.

Jaclyn Gilstrap (she/her)

Co-Director

Jaclyn is the [other!] Co-Director of A Visual Approach. She is a community connector, group facilitator, birth doula, and artist whose work is rooted in deep listening. Her background is in global reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, rape crisis support, and racial equity. Jaclyn has worked with organizations of all shapes and sizes and across many subjects, including higher education, financial services, public health, racial equity, housing & food insecurity, rural community development, beloved/next economy, healthcare, education equity, philanthropy, and reproductive justice. She speaks Spanish, English, and Azerbaijani, and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jaclyn and her two cats live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with their beloved community and medium successful garden. 

Katerina Marroquin (she/her)

Katerina is deeply committed to integrating art and visual self-expression within community-building initiatives. With a background in communications and prior experience spanning education, public health, and immigration rights advocacy, she brings a wealth of diverse expertise to her work.
